This ancient Greek silver stater was struck at Argos Amphilochikon in Akarnania around 340–300 BC. Pegasus appears in flight on one side, with Athena in her Corinthian helmet on the other.
The coin shown in the first images is the exact coin you will receive. After purchase, I will handcraft your chosen setting specifically for this coin.
Please note: The final images show a similar stater previously set in a handcrafted 14k gold bezel and are included as an example of how the finished pendant can look. Your pendant will be made using the exact coin shown in the first images. You will decide which side of the coin will be the "front."
Why I Chose This Coin
What drew me to this coin is the pairing of Pegasus and Athena.Pegasus gives the coin a wonderful sense of movement, while Athena on the other side is rendered in the familiar Corinthian helmet. Together they make this an immediately recognizable piece of Greek imagery, but on a coin struck not at Corinth itself, but at Argos Amphilochikon in northwestern Greece.I also like the irregularity that comes from the ancient striking process. It doesn't feel manufactured or overly perfect; it looks and feels like an object made more than 2,300 years ago.

Handcrafted Setting
Your setting is made only after your order is placed, ensuring it is fitted specifically to this exact coin. Because ancient coins are hand-struck, the obverse and reverse are rarely aligned like modern coins. If you have a preferred side to face forward when worn, simply leave a note with your order and I'll orient the setting accordingly.
